What do you do in this job?

Hotel manager  plan work processes in the hotel, support and advise hotel guests and ensure their well-being. Hotel manager help out  in all departments of a hotel. For example, they set up the rooms here and control them, operate in the restaurant and work in the kitchen. They organize events and give out rooms. Hotel manager issue invoices, plan personnel deployment and monitor for example, the kitchen assistants. Even for accounting and storage they are responsible. They negotiate with tour operators and are involved in the development and implementation of marketing activities of big hotels.

Which graduation is expected?
Legally no particular education is required. Usually, companies take trainees with a 9^th year graduation certificate.

Anforderungen:
   • Flexibility (e.g. adapt for use in the of restaurant service, kitchen, administration or reception or other frequently changing tasks and situations)
   • Customer and service orientation and sociability (e.g. react to the wishes and needs of new guests)
   • Good physical fitness (e.g. hectic and time sensitive work, carrying heavy serving trays, cleaning rooms)
   • teamwork (e.g. working hand in hand with the kitchen and house staff)

School subjects:
   • mathematics (e.g. for creating invoices, for cashing)
   • German (e.g. for correspondence and guest contact)
   • English and other foreign languages (e.g. for dealing with customers from other countries)

What you earn during the training?

Exemplary training allowances per month:
 • 1st year of training: € 479 to € 586
 • 2nd year: € 557 to € 672
 • 3rd year: € 635 to € 757
